ES9: Glam Living Room

ES9: Glam Living Room

Happy Friday! Today’s moodboard is all about the glam. Check out this sumptuous navy velvet sofa, cozy Mongolian sheepskin, pretty sconces, and delicate coffee tables. I love my hubs but if I lived alone, I’d be going all out girl glam in the living room. Some serious grown up cocktail could be served in here. Sheepskin, rug, and skull from Apple & Oak!

ES8: floral sofa meets modern farmhouse

Farmhouse + Floral Sofa

Confession time: I find that I am drawn 99% of the time to solids on upholstery (there are many good reasons I do this, feel free to DM me if you want deets on this preference) so I wanted to challenge myself to incorporate a floral print sofa from Apple and Oak’s inventory. Here’s what I would do to make the sofa at home: don’t try to compete with the print; neutralize everything else! Creamy knits and linen upholstery, a cotton rug in blush tones, a cozy blanket, and a whitewashed plank wall complement the strong floral. Bring in wood tones to "talk to" the sofa frame. A great transitional oversized lantern in wrought iron crowns the space. So how do you think I did!?

ES6: Uncommon Color Combo Dining Room

ES6: Uncommon Color Combo Dining Room

Dining Room Inspiration by Elizabeth Stanton
An unexpected color combination is one of my favorite ways to infuse personality and character in a space. Peachy melon, olive green, and dusty blue work here for a couple of reasons. One: these colors are all in the same tonal family. Saturated colors like to be with other saturated colors. Muted colors work beautifully with other muted colors. Two: there is a balance of cool and warm tones. The blue, silver, minty green, and gray of the weathered wood are countered by the warmth of the peaches and pinks of the artwork, the copper mugs, and even the olive green rug. I hope these tips give you courage to create some uncommon color combinations in your own life, whether it be in your decor or wardrobe. Find the rug, green ceramic planter, and the bar cart Apple & Oak .

Girl Boss Office Inspiration by Elizabeth Stanton

When it comes to making a home office, turn to what inspires you! Surround yourself with art that intrigues, plants for fresh oxygen, and functional pieces like this lucite wall calendar and gold waste basket, that are downright glamorous. Consider a bar height table so that when you are sick of sitting, the switch to standing is a cinch. Here, the age-old pattern of a Turkish rug reads like a neutral. Add color and sparkle and build a work life that you won’t need a vacation from! Find the stool, rug, lamp, sassy colorful pencils, and the amethyst moon art at Apple & Oak (hey, that's us)!

Maine Cabin Inspiration

Brrr! Fight off the chill and cozy up in this Maine-cabin-inspired room! Start by layering a vintage hand knotted Turkish kilim in neutral tones for a subtle feminine touch. Bedeck your walls with a deeply hued American flag, vintage macrame, and 1767 reclaimed wood artwork. Be sure to clearly label the bar so you can find it through the hot toddy haze. A wooly Joanna Gaines striped blanket and neutral but textured throw pillow scream "cozy." Don't forget a flannel to complete the look. #cozyAF

ES1: bohemian bedroom design

ES1: bohemian bedroom design

This romantic, bohemian bedroom design was inspired by the feminine muted colors found in the rug, a vintage hand-knotted Turkish kilim named Pearl. Find Pearl along with the lavender velvet pillow in the shop. Layer Pearl (4’4”x7’6”) on top of a large sisal to work in a large bedroom like this one. A rattan sleigh bed with an indigo kantha blanket folded at the foot establishes a quirky laid back vibe while the crystal chandelier lends polish and sophistication. You’ll need a place to set the prettiest drinking glass ever and a collapsible leather stool by the bed is just the thing. Don’t forget greenery which enlivens any space; an indoor citrus tree smells amazing and looks beautiful.
